Researcher Services and Support: Getting Published

Deciding which journal to publish in can be challenging. Here are some points to consider and resources to help you choose an appropriate journal for your research. 

• Search Ulrich's Periodical Directory for comprehensive information about journal titles
• Find out a journal's Impact Factor using Journal Citation Reports (subscription database, use your GW UserID and password to login from off-campus)
• Explore the Directory of Open Access Journals to find high-quality open access journals and publishers. 

Don't sign on the dotted line without being aware of your rights as an author! Head to the Author Rights and Copyright tab next to find out more information about author/publisher agreements, transfer of copyright, and your options for retaining rights to your work.
