Resources for Early Career Researchers: Getting Started with Research

This guide is designed to assist early career researchers with research and publication related questions. It provides an overview of tools and resources for individuals who are just getting started in their research career.

Getting Started

In many fields, performing research and publishing your findings is an important part of your career trajectory. Traditionally, knowledge about research and publishing is built on the apprenticeship model--students and early career researchers learn from faculty mentors and more experienced colleagues. The mentorship model of learning about publishing can be limited and can result in disparities in professional advancement. The goal of this guide is to highlight resources that can help ambitious students and early career researchers to get started with the research and publication process.
