About Images

Do you need a images to integrate into a presentation or online module?  Do you need high-quality clinical or basic sciences images for your instructional materials?  These sources provide images available via Himmelfarb Library's online images.  In general, for images obtained via Himmelfarb Library's online collections: 

  • Images may be re-used for non-profit educational purposes (presentations, handouts, learning modules, etc.).
  • Documents containing images from Himmelfarb Library's collections should be shared via Blackboard or other secure academic systems.
  • If you are using a number of images from a single source, please also consult the Blackboard Copyright Chart and/or the Copyright Research Guide to ensure copyright compliance.
  • All images should be cited.  Some databases (example: ClinicalKey) will automatically generate a citation for you; see instructions at right for specific database.  The basic format for citing images in the APA Citation Style is:

Basic format:
Artist Surname, First Initial. Second Initial. (Year). Title of the artwork [Format].  Retrieved from URL (address of web site)

Example:
Baumel, A.  (2010). Cholera treatment center in Haiti [Online image].  Retrieved October 2, 2010 from https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org
