Linking to Electronic Resources: Creating Durable Links: E-Journal Articles

Guide to creating links to full-text journal articles and e-texts which are part of Himmelfarb Library's electronic collections. Links can be used in Blackboard as well as in other course materials.

ABI/Inform Complete

  1. Locate the article and click on 'Abstract/Details'.
  2. Scroll down to locate field labeled 'Document URL'.
  3. NOTE: The proxy prefix is already added; no further editing is needed.

Digital Object Identifier (DOI)

  1. Locate and copy the alphanumeric digital object identifier for the article  (example: 10.1016/j.vaccine.2014.05.027)
  2. Add the proxy prefix and the DOI base link (http://dx.doi.org/) to the before the DOI to create one string.

  1. Locate the article and click on the title link.
