Bloedorn Technology Center: Equipment for Loan

About Our Equipment Loan Service

Himmelfarb Library loans various pieces of equipment to support curricular development and activities in the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS), Milken Institute School of Public Health (GWSPH), and School of Nursing (SON).

Equipment Available for Loan

Through our loan service, faculty, staff, and students can request the use of the following items:

  • Laptops for emergency faculty and emergency student exam-taking use only
    • Dell Latitude 7310*
  • iPads for student exam-taking only
    • 9th generation Model M2K3LL/A
  • Canon Vixia Camcorders
    • Models HFS20 and HF R800
  • Camcorder tripods
  • Logitech HD Webcams + tripods
  • RODE VideoMicro On-camera compact microphone
  • Power DeWise Lavalier Microphone
  • Olympus Digital Voice Recorders
    • Models WS-853, WS-400S, and WS-210S
  • MIcrosoft LifeChat USB headsets
    • Model LX-3000

 

*The installed software on the Dell Latitudes includes:

Reserve Equipment

Advance reservations are recommended when possible, but not required. To reserve an item, or to learn more about the library’s equipment loan service, contact Catherine Sluder, Bloedorn Technology Center Manager, at (202) 994-9453.  You mail also email her at crharris@gwu.edu.

Borrow Equipment

Equipment is available for loan:

Mondays through Fridays, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Borrowers should come to the 1st floor Circulation Desk to borrow equipment.

Loan Periods

Each piece of equipment circulates for one week.

  • The emergency laptops and iPads circulate for 24 hours.

Return Equipment

Return all equipment to the first floor Circulation Desk at Himmelfarb during all open hours.

Equipment Maintenance

To maintain quality assurance standards for the library’s equipment, all unauthorized software, information, or documents left on equipment is subject to deletion upon return.

Stolen or Missing Equipment

If you suspect that a piece of equipment may have been stolen or if the equipment checked out to you is missing, please call Campus Police at (202) 994-6110 and the BTC Manager, at (202) 994-9453 immediately.

Damaged Equipment

If equipment is damaged during the loan period, the responsible person and/or department will be responsible for all costs/fees associated with repairs or replacement.

Rates and Fees

There is no charge for use of borrowed equipment.
