Scopus is an interdisciplinary citation and abstract database covering 36,377 titles (22,794 active titles and 13,583 inactive titles) from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals. In addition, Scopus tracks cited and citing literature.
As compared to PubMed, Scopus covers more international, non-U.S. based research and is also useful for discovering interdisciplinary research which may not be covered in PubMed.
Scopus can be used to identify highly cited authors and institutions, authors writing in specific journals in a field, and much more. It can also be used as a quality filter in research for finding "highly cited" papers that match your keywords, using the feature of sorting results by the number of times cited in other scientific papers.
