This research guide provides links to resources that address LGBTQ+ healthcare in the clinical and research setting, as well as links to local resources at GW and in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.

GW Student Groups

  • GW Nursing Pride: This group is for anyone who identifies in the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and allies to provide support and to meet others to create a greater sense of belonging at GW Nursing. All are welcome. Contact Information: GWNursingPride@gmail.com
  • GW Out for Health: GW SMHS's LGBTQ+ student organization. Contact Information: gwofh@gwu.edu
  • Allied in Pride: Through advocacy, social events, service, community, and support for LGBTQ+, Allied in Pride aims to Build community and create a safe and welcoming environment for GW's LGBTQ+ population.
  • Kehila GW: Provides LGBTQ+ Jewish students with a safe space where they are free to unapologetically be and present their most authentic selves. Kehila aspires to help students become more comfortable with, and navigate challenges pertaining to their identities.
  • oSTEM @ GWUoSTEM aims to provide a safe, supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ people in STEM fields that benefits them socially, professionally, and philanthropically. Students with any major related to science, mathematics, technology, or engineering are welcome to join.
  • Queer & Trans People of Color AssociationQTPOCA will address the social, cultural, and political problems that LGBTQ+ POC face both on and off campus. 
  • Transgender & Non-Binary Students of GWUThe goal of this organization is to create a safe space for transgender and non-binary students on GWU's campus, as well as allies. We hope to raise awareness and advocacy for our community through campus events and meetings.
