GW faculty open access policy

In addition to the federal mandates, the GW Open Access Policy applies to journal articles published after February 13, 2015 during your tenure here at GW. The policy requires GW faculty deposit a copy of the full text of the peer-reviewed manuscript of your journal article into a GW library open access repository or in a federal or other open access repository when required by your grant funder. There are three GW Library repositories and you may choose the one affiliated with your School or Department:

  • choose the Health Sciences Research Commons if you are faculty in one of the GW School's of Medicine, Health Sciences, Public Health or Nursing,
  • choose the GW ScholarSpace if you are faculty of GW Columbian College,
  • or choose the Scholarly Commons if you are faculty of the GW Law School. There is an opt-out procedure if copyright permission cannot be obtained from the publisher.
