PolicyMap

PolicyMap is a geographic mapping tool which provides integrated access to data on demographics, health, income, housing, jobs and more in communities across the US. PolicyMap allows users to specify the geographic area of interest (e.g., city, state, county, census tract, legislative district, etc.) and the types of data that they’d like to display in that area.

PolicyMap provides geographic mapping for existing datasets from the U.S. government (e.g., CDC, Census, etc.), from educational institutions (e.g, Harvard/UC Berkeley Equality of Opportunity Project), and commercial datasets (e.g., Black Knight Home Sales). These datasets are accessible via PolicyMap so users can start mapping right away. In addition to using PolicyMap’s dataset, users can upload a custom data set. Users can explore available datasets by navigating to explore what’s available under specific categories (e.g., Health or Education) or by searching PolicyMap’s data holdings. All available datasets are listed in PolicyMap’s Data Dictionary.
