Research Showcase is an annual event in which students from across GW have the opportunity to share the results of their research in the form of scientific posters. Participating schools held their Research Showcase events during the month of April, including the schools served by the Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library.
The posters presented at these events showed the incredible range of research activities being carried out by students at GW!
But the end of Research Showcase raises the question - what happens to those posters now? If you work with students who participated in one of these events, you can encourage them to digitally archive a copy of their poster in Himmelfarb's Health Sciences Research Commons (HSRC) and get a permanent URL for use on their resume or CV.
By digitally archiving a PDF of their poster, their work can be easily shared with colleagues or as part of their residency or other professional application. Doing so makes it discoverable via Google Scholar, and permanently preserves their scholarship. Their work will be assigned a unique, persistent URL, which will remain available even after they leave GW.
Archiving is easy! Just follow these steps:
