Soon, when you visit some of the most heavily used article databases available through the Himmelfarb Library webpage, you’ll notice some changes. This coming January, databases from EBSCOHost will feature a new user interface as well as some new features.
Popular EBSCOHost article databases that are available through the Himmelfarb Library include CINAHL Plus with Full Text (Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature, our most popular article database for nursing literature), PsycInfo (which covers psychology, sociology, and other related fields), ERIC (Education Resources Information Center, an article database covering education literature), and Academic Search Complete (a broad multidisciplinary article database)
CINAHL Plus with Full Text currently looks like this:
The updated CINAHL Plus with Full Text interface will look like this:
The new interface will have a less cluttered appearance, featuring a streamlined presentation of the filter and search options. The new version will also feature a PICOT (population, intervention, comparison, outcome, time) based search builder tool which will translate your PICOT-formatted research question into an initial search strategy. Additionally, the new interface will allow users to easily connect to a personal dashboard including saved searches, recent search activity, and ongoing projects.
One important new feature that will soon be available across EBSCOHost article databases will be the ability to bulk export up to 25,000 article records at a time in a variety of file formats, including RIS. This will greatly facilitate the use of these databases for systematic and scoping review projects involving large numbers of citations. Evidence Based Care Sheets and Quick Lessons are still available in CINAHL Plus with Full-Text. To access them, search for your topic and apply a Source Type filter as shown below:
