The following tutorials will help you get started using the research tools provided by Himmelfarb.

EndNote General Information

What is EndNote?

EndNote is a reference management software.

Accessing EndNote

EndNote desktop for Windows and Mac is available to all full-time faculty and staff within the School of Medicine and Health Sciences via the SMHS Technology Support Center Software Downloads.

Note: if you are installing EndNote on a Windows computer, you will need to completely unzip the package before installation. Please complete the following steps:

  • Right click on “Endnote20.zip” and select “Extract All”
  • Click “Extract” to accept the default destination folder and extract files.
  • Navigate to the unzipped “Endnote20” folder
  • Double click on “EN20inst.msi” and click through the installation windows.

EndNote desktop for Windows and Mac is also available to full-time faculty and staff within the Milken Institute School of Public Health. GWSPH faculty can install EndNote on university-managed from the Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (Mac).

Students, faculty, and staff can create an EndNote Web account by accessing Web of Science via Himmelfarb. Once in Web of Science, click on "EndNote" on the top of the page to create your account. EndNote Web does not offer the same extent of functionalities available via EndNote desktop. Himmelfarb library primarily supports RefWorks, and we encourage students to use that reference manager instead.
