BIO: Laura Abate is the Library Director and has 20+ years library experience in research and instruction, electronic resources access and management, and library administration. She began her career in research/reference and has collaborated extensively with faculty members in developing searches to support health sciences research projects. Her electronic resources work focused on enhancing search strategies to support evidence-based practice; streamlining access to full-text content; integrating information sources and services in the clinical environment; and, in delivering information via mobile devices. She holds a certificate from the GW SMHS Master Teacher Leadership Development Program. 

Laura serves as a Liaison Librarian to the following areas:
>> Anesthesiology
>> Medicine
>> Surgery

RESEARCH INTERESTS: Clinical information tools; active learning, evidence-based practice, electronic resources management
